Introduction to Hurghada

A total investment in the airport in the region of $300m, and is envisaged to be completed in 2012 with both runways operational at this time also. Hurgahda airport will be served by many of the national carriers particularly from Russian Eastern Europe and The Uk, and now low cost airlines have commenced operations into the area particularly from the Uk with jet2 using Boeing 757 aircraft.
Hurghada lies only 200km North East of Luxor home of the Valley of the kings and many overnight excursions are operated from Hurghada, being only 45 mins flying time or 3 to 4 hrs journey time over land,
Luxor being a place of Great historical interest to Egyptian Heritage located on the banks of the River Nile and the city of Thebes, this is where in aforementioned Valley of the Kings the pharaohs were laid to rest in the Tombs most of the discovered tombs are open to view sadly the artefacts are now located at the Cairo museum or plundered over the years.
